A follow-up interview for thesis · GWU Interaction Design
Threshold of a Dream
Hi! I’m Sonia, and this is the follow-up interview for my thesis project, Dream Translator × Interactive Space (I haven’t decided on the final title yet!).
I’m now moving into the design phase, and I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or anything else you’d like to share about the project.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the previous interviews, I’ve collected many wonderful dreams. Now, I’d love to explore how I can incorporate these precious dreams into my installation.
For this interview, you’ll look at a series of sample images, some I photographed and some generated from AI to show how a scene gradually transforms into something dreamlike. As you watch the images change, you’ll pull a knob to mark the moment when the scene starts to feel like a dream to you.
The scene

You marked the dream at 0% of the transformation.
Want to fine-tune? Squeeze and hold the ball. The longer you squeeze, the stronger the dream. Let go when it feels right.
The scene finished without a mark.

Your answers help me decide where reality ends and the dream begins in the installation. I really appreciate your time.
